Application Disclaimers & Safety Notices

Last Updated: December 30, 2025

This page provides general disclaimers for Tool Tied, LLC ("Tool Tied," "we," "us") tools and calculators, including TetherIQ™ and related pairing/compatibility features. These tools are designed to help users plan, compare, and document potential solutions, but they are not a substitute for manufacturer guidance, training, or competent-person review where required.

General Tool Disclaimer (All Tools)

Tool Tied tools and tool outputs are provided as an informational starting point. Results may be based on user inputs, stored product data, rules-based logic, comparison algorithms, and/or curated relationships. Because real-world conditions vary, tool outputs are not a substitute for:

  • manufacturer instructions, limitations, and compatibility guidance,
  • required inspection and maintenance procedures,
  • jobsite policies, training, and safe work practices,
  • competent-person review where required, and
  • applicable standards, regulations, and certification requirements.

You are responsible for verifying fit, function, suitability, installation method, and compliance for your specific application before field use.

TetherIQ™ Compatibility & Pairing Disclaimer

TetherIQ™ is designed to assist users in identifying potential tool pairings and tethering solutions. Pairings may be generated through a combination of:

  • Rules-based and comparison algorithms (based on available product data and specifications), and
  • Curated pairings (relationships added and maintained by Tool Tied).

No Guarantee of Absolute Compatibility

Suggested pairings are based on published specifications, structured product data, and known configuration patterns. Variations in manufacturing, revisions, wear, modifications, jobsite conditions, and installation practices may impact real-world fit and performance. Results are guidance, not a guarantee.

Algorithm and Data Quality Limitations

Pairing outputs rely on the quality and completeness of available product data. If source data is incomplete, outdated, or ambiguous, outputs may be imperfect. Human judgment and real-world verification remain essential.

Field-Picks and Expert Verification

On our site, a "Field-Pick" badge only appears when a Tool Tied associate has added the relevant works-with relationship in the backend. Field-Picks are not automatically generated.

A Field-Pick may be added when:

  • Direct experience: A Tool Tied expert has personally used the pairing in real-world or controlled conditions and can confirm practical compatibility for the intended configuration.
  • Documented field use: The pairing has been used for a manufacturer or in prior field contexts and is supported by credible documentation, guidance, or established usage patterns (even if the exact physical items were not personally inspected in every instance).
  • Reviewed community systems: Community-created systems or configurations have been reviewed by Tool Tied and the pairing appears consistent, reasonable, and aligned with known fit/usage patterns.

Important: Even when a pairing is labeled as a Field-Pick, you must verify the current manufacturer instructions, limitations, and any applicable standards for your specific application.

Mixing and Matching Brands

Unless explicitly identified by the relevant manufacturer(s), mixing and matching brands across load-bearing or function-critical components may not be permitted, validated, or warranted. Some combinations (for example, a bag that stores tools from multiple brands) may be acceptable when components are not physically connected or part of the load path. However, any connection, attachment method, rated capacity, and load path must follow manufacturer recommendations and applicable standards.

User Responsibility and Safety

Dropped-object prevention and tool-tethering involve inherent safety considerations. Final responsibility lies with the end user to verify that any tool, accessory, and tethering solution is safe and suitable for the intended application. Always confirm:

  • physical compatibility and correct installation method,
  • rated capacity (where applicable) and appropriate inspection intervals,
  • manufacturer instructions and limitations, and
  • compliance with applicable standards and jobsite policies.

Limitation of Reliance

Tool outputs and pairing results are advisory in nature. Tool Tied is not responsible for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from reliance on tool outputs without proper verification, training, inspection, and adherence to manufacturer instructions and applicable standards.

Updates

We may update these disclaimers as tools evolve and new features are released. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the most recent changes.
